Cherishing God's vocation in them

Earlier this month two members of congregations founded by the Venerable Mary Ward made vowed commitments, only a few days apart.

On Wednesday 6th, Theodora (Theo) Hawksley made her first vows in the Congregation of Jesus in the historic Bar Convent chapel. You can read more about this on their website. Theo has now been missioned to Guyana, to work on an educational project with indigenous children.

And then, a few days later on Saturday 9th, Mary Agnes Idiong IBVM (pictured left) made her final profession of vows at the parish church in Llandudno, North Wales, where she had been part of the community at the sisters' retreat centre. She will now be living and working in West London.

Our prayer and good wishes accompany both Mary Agnes and Theo as they each begin to live with greater depth the spirit and vision of Mary Ward, whose dying words to her companions were:

Cherish God's vocation in you. Let it be constant, efficacious and loving.
